Although the aircraft is clearly fitted with jet engines, the engine noise heard within the cabin throughout the film is that of a piston‑engined, propeller‑driven aircraft. That audio was taken from the film Zero Hour! (1957) and functions as a long‑running gag: Aeroplan! (1980) spoofs disaster films such as Zero Hour! (1957) and Airport (1970).
