The removal van in the film bears the name of a fictional firm, Pierce, which has been operating since 1941. The name is a nod to Jack Pierce, Universal's classic monster make-up artist during the studio's heyday in the 1930s and 1940s. The year 1941 refers to when Universal released the original The Wolf Man.
Charlotte lifts a car battery from the cellar and carries it outside to jump-start the old pick-up. Each time she handles it she raises it easily with one hand. She ought not to be able to do that, as car batteries — especially an older unit you’d find on a long-abandoned farm — typically weigh more than 15 kg.
