Charlize Theron

When Charlize was just a regular child, she had a very unusual best friend: a goat named Bok. Charlize lived with her parents on a farm in South Africa. When she was 15 years old, Theron was going through a family tragedy so horrifying, the actress wasn't able to talk about it for years: in self-defense, her mother shot her father, who used to drank and physically abuse her. The police did not press charges. After her father's death, Theron won her first modeling contest, and travelled to Europe. After that she moved to Los Angeles, where her acting career started completely by accident. A casting agent discovered Charlize at a bank, having witnessed her arguing with a cashier. Charlize Theron's best role was as a serial killer in the 'Monster'. To portray Aileen Wuornos, Theron gained 25 pounds and spent most of every day in the makeup chair. The transformation was so impressive nobody could recognize one of the most beautiful Hollywood actresses under all that makeup and prosthetics. Eventually 'Monster' got Charlize an Oscar.
