Dylan O'Brien was born to Lisa Rhodes and Patrick O'Brien on August 26, 1991, in New York City. American actor Dylan O'Brien has appeared in a wide range of film and television productions.
His family moved from New Jersey to the Hermosa Beach area of California when he was twelve years old. He attended California's "Mira Costa High School" for his undergraduate studies and graduated in 2009.
For a brief period of time after graduation, he thought of pursuing a career in sports broadcasting working for New York Mets, but later decided to go with acting. He also thought of going to the prestigious Syracuse University, but ultimately decided against it because of his desire to pursue and acting career. He began uploading films to his YouTube channel when he was only 14, and quickly became a viral sensation. Soon after that, he was approached by a director for a web series collaboration, meanwhile, he was also working on short films which earned rave reviews from both masses and critics. Occasionally, he would also drum for the band Slow Kids.
In 2010, Dylan O' Brien rose to fame through a role in the MTV-backed series Teen Wolf. Initially, he was called in to enact the role of Scott, however after reading the script, he auditioned for Stiles’ part and got it. Dylan O'Brien also appeared in the 2011 comedy film High Road, and when his romantic comedy The First Time debuted in 2012, it was screened at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival. However, the actor truly shot to fame through the lead role in the science fiction adventure series The Maze Runner, which was an adaption of a bestselling novel by the same name. Its producers saw financial success at the box office and decided to develop the film into a series. The sequels, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and Maze Runner: The Death Cure, were also box-office successes.
In 2016 he co-starred with Kate Hudson, Mark Wahlberg, and Kurt Russell in the movie Deep Water Horizon. In 2017 he worked with action movie legend Michael Keaton in American Assassin.
In 2019, he made a guest appearance in Weird City, a sci-fi anthology series. Later on in 2018 he was seen in a mystery thriller named Flashback.
Dylan O'Brien has been in the industry for a relatively short time, yet he has already garnered widespread attention and received multiple honors. Dylan won Young Hollywood Awards 'Best Ensemble' and Teen Choice Awards 'Choice TV Villain' in 2013-14.

Dylan O'Brien received Best Hero, Best Fight, and Best Breakthrough Performance at MTV Movie Awards in 2015 and swept the Teen Choice 2016 awards, as "Teen Wolf," "Maze Runner: Scorch Trials," and "Deepwater Horizon" earned four awards.
Dylan O'Brien dated his co-star from The First Time Britt Robertson. They met during the filming back in 2012, soon began dating, but broke up in 2018. Dylan is currently rumored to be dating Chloë Grace Moretz.
Dylan O'Brien injured himself while filming the third Maze Runner movie. However, the actor recovered and resumed working on projects after few months of rest.
