Anna is a modest young teacher from a remote village. In order to pay off her brother's debts, she is forced to become a nanny for the son of Moscow businessman Vorontsov. The owner of the house shows Anna signs of attention, and when the girl does not reciprocate, he rapes her. Anna decides to quit and go home, but Vorontsov's young wife, Kseniya, accuses her of theft. Anna is arrested. In response to the Vorontsovs lies, she writes a statement about rape. But the heroine has to renounce her charges in order to be released. The unfortunate girl returns to the village to her parents. Having learned about what happened, Anna's brother, Nikolay, decides to take revenge on Vorontsov, and, together with familiar bandits, organize the kidnapping of his son. But the bandits kidnap not the baby, but Vorontsov's eldest son, the world famous violinist Mark.
