В 1-м сезоне сериала «Инуяся» на окраине Токио стоит старинный синтоистский храм, который уже не первое поколение хранит семейство Хигураси. Кагомэ – старшая дочь рода, она живет вместе с родителями и братом Сотой и вскоре тоже должна стать хранительницей. Но все меняется, когда кот семьи падает в древний колодец неподалеку от храма. Младший брат боится лезть за ним сам, поэтому сделать это приходится Кагомэ. Но рядом с колодцем девушке приходится сразиться с демоном-сороконожкой. А когда она наконец спасается от монстра и выбегает на улицу, выясняется, что колодец перенес ее в средневековую Японию.
