The American mini-series "Outfielder" tells the story of Glenn Burke, a baseball player who popularized the "high five" gesture. In early October 1977, Burke turned 19 and hit his 30th home run, after which he slapped Dusty Baker's hand. This is now considered the first use of the well-known "high five" gesture worldwide. Additionally, Glenn was the first MLB player to publicly announce his non-traditional sexual orientation. He faced prejudice and was expelled from the team.
