"The Way Down: God, Greed, and the Cult of Gwen Shamblin" is an American documentary mini-series that tells the story of yet another religious cult that emerged in the United States. At the center of the events is a fanatically devout woman named Gwen Shamblin, originally from Memphis. In the early 90s, the protagonist made a name for herself through the promotion of innovative weight loss methods. She promised her followers astonishing results, claiming they could have anything they wanted, but only in small portions.
