The main character of the series "Birch Grove" is a young graduate of the Foreign Languages ​​Faculty, Tatyana Kataeva. The girl finds a job as a tutor in an elite suburban settlement called Birch Grove. She arrives at the home of influential Soviet official Professor Zabelin to teach languages ​​to his grandson. Tanya finds herself in a world she has never known before, with social gatherings, international business trips, and well-trained servants. But one evening, the girl becomes an accidental witness to a crime.
