The series "Women of the Movement" tells the true biography of African-American activist Mamie Elizabeth Till, who fought for the rights of African Americans. In 1955, the protagonist says goodbye to her fourteen-year-old son Emmett, who goes to spend the summer with his cousin in the state of Mississippi. However, the boy is never destined to return to his mother. Unaware of the local customs, he clashes with a white woman, after which her husband and brother brutally murder the teenager. Mamie refuses to stay silent about this atrocity and brings the story to national attention.
