The American multi-series project "Doomsday Machine" is based on the bestseller "The Ugly Truth: The Battle for Dominance on Facebook" written by Shira Frankel and Cecilia Kang, as well as their reports in the New York Times and the journalistic works of Andrew Marantz from the New Yorker. It tells the story of chronicles of socially significant events that caused a sensation on the social network Facebook. The creators of the series explore the mechanisms of news dissemination in the World Wide Web.
