The TV series "Playing Mother-Daughter" is a melodrama about the power of maternal love. Marina, a young woman, raises her adopted daughter Yanochka alone and manages a library. One day, her lover Andrey proposes to her and suggests that she and her daughter move into his house. However, their happiness doesn't last long: Marina's best friend Tatyana provides her with evidence of Andrey's infidelity. Left without a fiancé, job, and home, Marina moves in with Tanya. But soon she realizes that her friend is not who she claims to be.
