The TV series "Statute of Limitations" is a detective story set in a small Russian seaside town. Anna Svetlova is a police major, an experienced local police officer, and also a "spinster," quite attractive but lonely. She is preparing to leave her dangerous job and retire. However, at this time, two unexpected incidents occur in the town: human remains are found in the river, clearly having been there for more than a year, and a young officer named Dasha is assigned to Anna's department.
