The TV series "God of War" is based on the eponymous series of video games. The story revolves around Kratos, a former Spartan commander. His battle with the barbarian king proved fatal, but the Olympian god Ares brought him back to life in exchange for loyal service. Wanting to make him the perfect warrior, the god deceitfully forced him to kill his own family. However, instead of submission, it ignited his rage. Kratos' skin turned pale from the ashes of his loved ones, and he set out to find a new patron to seek revenge on Ares.
