The series "Kurgan" is a Russian-Italian historical drama set in 1982. In the midst of the Cold War between the USSR, America, and Europe, an Italian family is forced to leave their sunny hometown and travel to the distant snowy Siberia. The reason behind this journey is that their 14-year-old son is seriously ill, and the only one who can help him is the Russian orthopedic surgeon Gavriil Ilizarov. However, he is accused of betraying his homeland. Will he decide to take on this case, risking his own future?
