In a small provincial town, several crimes occur: the dead bodies discovered by law enforcement officials have been subjected to brutal torture. Investigator Irina Shumskaya is leading the investigation into these murders. She plans to seek assistance from psychologist Andrey Vysokov, who has the ability to "penetrate" the mind of the perpetrator and anticipate their next moves. Andrey is convinced that the investigation is dealing with a serial killer.
