The series is a prequel to the cult multi-part project "Gangster Petersburg". It tells the story of a military translator who takes part in combat operations in Africa. The events unfold in the mid-80s. Young Arabic translator Andrei Obnorsky finds himself in the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen, where a team of military advisors from the USSR is stationed. They are training Yemeni soldiers. Straight out of university, the young man is thrown into the midst of turbulent events...
