They met during World War I - Eva, a performer from the music hall, and Paul de Lancy, a soldier. After celebrating their wedding, they went to Hollywood, where they had two daughters. Freddie becomes a top-notch pilot, while Delphine goes to France and, with the help of her stepbrother Bruno, enters the world of cinema. But the de Lancy family's life crumbles with the onset of war.
