The central character is investigator Victoria Belyaeva. Unlike her colleagues, she doesn't have a family, so she is often sent on work trips. This time, she is sent to Yaroslavl, where a Moscow police officer was killed under strange circumstances. Victoria must not only assist the local colleagues but also do everything to avoid publicity. The first person she encounters in Yaroslavl is her ex-boyfriend, Seryozha Limanov.
