The events take place in the future in the territory of the Tokyo-Yokohama conglomerate, where power is held by major corporations. The story revolves around a professional computer hacker named Henry Case, who has the ability to access any network resource. One day, he gets into a conflict with influential individuals and gets himself into a lot of trouble. After a confrontation with gangsters, Case is unable to enter the matrix and can only see pixels instead of regular images.
