The series "She Couldn't Do Otherwise" revolves around a young and highly talented artist named Alevtina Tolkacheva. From a young age, she dreams of being on stage, unaware of the long and arduous path to fame that awaits her. Alevtina begins her ascent to stardom in the mid-1960s when she enrolls in the Institute of Culture. It is during this time that fate brings her together with the artistic director of a famous jazz ensemble of that era. They fall in love and soon get married. However, unfortunately, the happiness of the young singer proves to be short-lived.
