The TV series "By the Way, About Butterflies" is a Russian melodrama about a young scientist named Anastasia Gracheva who dreams of inventing the "formula of love". Nastya is a graduate student at the psychology department who believes that the heart can be controlled by the mind, and that so-called love can be created using a well-developed scientific algorithm. She volunteers to conduct an experiment on herself and suggests to a barely acquainted man named Artem Maslov to try out her methodology together. If they succeed in falling in love, humanity will be freed from the torment of unrequited feelings.
