The focus of the story is on investigator Elena Savina, who is convinced that Anna Vlasova, found at the crime scene, did not actually kill anyone. However, the young woman persistently confesses to committing a serious crime. Savina believes that Anna is trying to protect the real killer. Despite everything, after going through a large number of suspects, Lena discovers the trail of the culprit. Now she faces a difficult decision - to send innocent Anna to trial or expose the real killer.
