The protagonist of the melodramatic series "From Meeting to Parting" is Svetlana, a mother and housewife. She loves her husband Mikhail and forgives his drinking and even beatings, until he raises his hand against their son Danya. At that point, Svetlana's maternal heart can't take it anymore, and she leaves home, taking the child with her.
