Lena is a young, beautiful businesswoman and the chief editor of a fashion magazine. Ten years ago, her beloved husband, the artist Arseny, left her for a race car driver named Nika. Since then, Lena has clenched her teeth, built her career, and tormented her subordinates with her bossy character, all while hoping that Arseny will come back to her. Her friend futilely tries to convince Lena to pay attention to other men, as her waiting has clearly dragged on: in Arseny's life, women come and go, but Lena remains just a friend. Just when it seems like there is no way out, a strange twist occurs in Lena's life: she learns that the home-wrecker Nika has died. Nika left behind a little daughter, who is completely unaware of Arseny's actions. Lena feels sympathy for the girl and realizes that the child will be unwanted in Arseny's new family, so she decides to adopt the daughter of her beloved husband.
