"Maltese - Il romanzo del Commissario" is an Italian crime thriller series about the honest and courageous officer Dario Maltese, who fights against drug trafficking, lawlessness, and corruption in his city. The events take place in 1970s Sicily. Dario returns to his hometown of Trapani to bury his father and investigate his death. Soon, the hero realizes that the sinister hand of crime has gotten much closer to his family than he thought. Maltese finds himself face to face with the local mafia.
