The Russian melodramatic series "Behind the Stone Wall" tells the story of the fate of a young provincial girl named Varya. She lives with her elderly grandmother, works as a tutor, and awaits the return of her fiancé Tolik from Moscow. However, he surprises her by bringing back a new wealthy girlfriend from the capital. In defiance, Varya accepts a marriage proposal from her neighbor Vadim, whom she doesn't love, but who showers her with attention and care.
