"Waiting" is the world's first reality show about women who have dedicated their lives to prisoners. The heroines of the project are real Russian girls who have romantic relationships through correspondence with men serving time behind bars. In the pursuit of a great but currently unattainable love, they put their entire lives on hold. These "pen pals," or "waiters," as they call themselves, live from visit to visit under the strict supervision of prison guards, save up for expensive lawyers, and form support communities to help each other along this path.
