"The Story of Russian Prisons" is a documentary series about life behind bars. Each episode is dedicated to the history, current state, internal structure, and prisoners of a famous prison, from Butyrka to Vladimir Central. Over time, these walls have housed famous politicians and revolutionaries, writers and scientists who were deemed undesirable by the authorities. Nowadays, for some, prison is a sentence, while for others, it is practically a second home, a life where the world outside has long lost its colors and meaning.
