The central character of the story is Elena Varlakova, who works as a doctor and plans to marry neurosurgeon Oleg Maximov. There is only one thing complicating the main character's life - the attention from wealthy businessman Luzianin. He is so attracted to her that he is not willing to give up, despite the obstacles. Luzianin intends to use all his connections to bring trouble to Maximov and win over his beloved. And Elena gives in. She finally agrees to become Luzianin's wife.
