Shtrafbat (2004 - 2004)

The Russian military drama series "Shtrafbat" tells the story of the challenging fate of penal battalions, whose lives contributed to the Soviet forces' victories during the most difficult times of World War II. Experts in military history are reluctant to talk about these individuals, and their comrades' graves remain nameless. Shtrafbats were sent to attack the most inaccessible enemy defense positions. They were not provided with ammunition and food, often having to procure sustenance themselves in the heat of battle. Death surrounded them at every turn.
