The central character is a Jew named Joseph. In his early years, he was a shy child, but years of evacuation have changed him significantly. He has become a cruel and ruthless robber, treating his accomplices and subordinates with cynicism. The fame of this authoritarian thief has spread throughout the district. This is the story of a man who once lost, forgot, and changed his given name and simply became Baron.
