The events unfold on the morning of December 14, 1825. On this day, representatives of the most privileged and respected noble families of the Russian Empire, along with military personnel, took to Senate Square to protest against the government. By the end of the day, after futile negotiations and several shots fired, everything was resolved. The participants of the uprising, later dubbed the Decembrists, were sentenced. They were accused of treason against their homeland. Five people were executed, while the rest were sent to hard labor.
