The documentary project by Netflix is based on the bestseller by Dan Buettner, "The Blue Zones: 9 Lessons for Living Longer from the People Who've Lived the Longest." Buettner began his collaboration with National Geographic in the early 2000s. His attempts to create a formula for longevity led him to meet different people who live much longer than average. This is a story about the lifestyle of people who have become centenarians. While most people aspire to live a long, healthy, and happy life, only a few know the secrets of longevity.
