The focus of the story is on a young girl named Nastya. She has graduated from the history faculty and has become a tour guide in Veliky Novgorod. Nastya's boyfriend proposes to her. Immediately after the wedding ceremony, Nastya and Zhenya plan to move to the Northern capital, where Zhenya has finally been offered a job. However, tragedy strikes, casting a shadow over the lovers' lives. Nastya's parents die in a car accident. As a result, the wedding has to be postponed. Now the groom and bride are busy organizing the funeral.
