The main character of the story, Alexey Nikolaev, has long since finished his service, left his hometown of St. Petersburg, and moved to the countryside, where he became a gamekeeper. After fifteen years, he receives disturbing news: his friend and former partner, Andrey Krasnov, has died. Leha decides to return to the Northern capital to investigate the circumstances of his former comrade's death. Leha is willing to do whatever it takes to find those responsible for this crime. They must face the consequences of their actions.
