Shōgun (1980 - 1980)

The hero of the series "Shōgun" is a young British ship's pilot named John Blackthorne. The young man comes from a wealthy family and has been educated in physics, geography, mathematics, and military affairs. He boards the ship of his own accord, seeking to gain experience and become a man. However, the ship is wrecked in foreign waters somewhere off the coast of Japan. The surviving sailors find themselves on the land of the powerful Eastern prince Toranagi. Impressed by Blackthorne's intelligence, Toranagi takes him under his protection. The young man is about to immerse himself in a completely unfamiliar culture.
