Lera Dvizhkova, an employee of the guardianship authorities, grew up in an orphanage, which is why she is truly passionate about her work. Lera is uncompromising when it comes to parental irresponsibility, and her visits are feared and secretly called "Vydra" (Otter). Lera supports her neighbor's family: Rita and her daughter Alsu. When Rita goes missing, Lera sees this tragedy as personal and does everything she can to find her friend as soon as possible. She understands the horror an eight-year-old child goes through because when she was the same age, her mother disappeared without a trace. Now Lera tries to do everything for the girl to save her from the orphanage. But she has no idea how far this desire will take her and what dangerous secrets she will have to uncover.
