Marina Pichugina, a Major in the Investigative Committee, or as her close friends call her - Manya, moves from Moscow to the small town of Savelievsk. This is not a punishment or the result of intrigue in the capital. Pichugina requested the transfer to the province herself. Having grown up in a local orphanage, the heroine hopes to find her father in Savelievsk, whom she mistakenly believed to be dead. In addition, leaving the capital is a way for Investigator Pichugina to forget about her unhappy love. However, the search for her father turns out to be much more complicated and dangerous than Manya imagined. Forgetting the past is almost impossible, and her new colleagues are hostile towards her.
