1878. At the end of the Russo-Turkish War, Prince Alexei Raevsky, who is fighting on the Balkan front as a major, disappears without a trace. His young wife, Princess Sofia, does not believe in the prince's death. She undergoes accelerated nursing courses and goes to the front to search for him. Overcoming many trials, Sofia rescues her husband from Turkish captivity and returns to Russia with him. However, Raevsky's enemies accuse him of betraying his homeland. Only Sofia can save the prince from hard labor. To do this, she must once again, now surrounded by loyal friends, embark on a journey to the East.
