Nastya, a nurse, is in trouble: her younger sister is seriously ill. Doctors are at a loss. Their last hope is the famous doctor Andrey Ermolov from St. Petersburg. Nastya sells her apartment and she and her sister go to the northern capital for treatment. However, they discover that Ermolov has been fired from the clinic, and not just that, but with disgrace. He is accused of causing the death of a patient. After being fired, the doctor starts acting strangely, gets into a car accident, and a friend takes him away to his country house to keep him out of trouble. The girls find the former medical luminary in the village. The only problem is that he is unable to treat anyone: something strange happens to him after the accident. The country's best diagnostician, Ermolov, cannot diagnose himself. The countdown has already begun: each day he gets worse, and the prospect of dying with the stigma of a killer doctor becomes clearer. And yet, people continue to get sick and come to him for help, unwilling to hear anything about his own problems.
