Gregg Araki, a representative of the New Queer Cinema movement, teams up with journalist Carly Sciortino, who hosts a show about sex and sexuality for Vice, to create a portrait of contemporary American youth. "Now Apocalypse" is a surreal comedy about the misfortunes, dreams, and desires of millennials in the hot city of Los Angeles. The main characters, Ulysses, Ford, Carly, and Severin, explore life through the lens of slang, dating apps, conspiracy theories, and new forms of relationships.
