The TV series "Nuclear Family" tells the true story from the childhood of director and journalist Ray Russo-Young. The woman was raised in one of the first non-traditional families with two mothers in America. Her biological father was just a friend of the family who agreed to provide his sperm for Robin Young and Sandy Russo's conception. However, after the birth of the girl, the man couldn't come to terms with the fact that the child wasn't biologically his, and initiated a painful four-year legal battle to establish paternity.
