Esti lives in a community of Satmar Hasidim - radical and extremely fanatical representatives of Judaism - in one of the neighborhoods of Brooklyn. After a year of marriage to Yanki, in which, contrary to everyone's expectations, they did not have children, she decides to escape to Berlin to free herself from the burden of the community. There, she quickly becomes close with a group of conservatory students and even applies for a scholarship, but her past catches up with her in Berlin.
