The Enfield Poltergeist – In the late 1970s, a series of supernatural phenomena shook Britain. Some members of the Society for Psychical Research, such as Maurice Grosse and writer Guy Lyon Playfair, referred to the events as a true manifestation of a poltergeist. However, their colleagues Anita Gregory and John Beloff were "not convinced" and suggested that deception may have played a role in the story. It all began when single mother Peggy Hodgson called the authorities in 1977, reporting that something was wrong with her rented house.
