El Deafo – "El Deafo" is an animated series about a little rabbit named Sisi who wears a hearing aid. The story is based on the autobiographical comic book by Cece Bell, a girl who lost her hearing at a young age. Throughout her school years, she is forced to keep some distance from her peers because ordinary teenagers are unable to understand the challenges of a hearing-impaired girl. They often bully Sisi and make fun of her bulky hearing aid, but the heroine remains resilient and, as she explores the world around her, discovers the superhero within herself.
