The Sympathizer – The TV series is based on the eponymous work by Viet Thanh Nguyen, dedicated to the Vietnam War. The story revolves around a communist spy from North Vietnam who infiltrates the southern army in the final days of the war. As a double agent working for both America and the Soviet Union, he has long ceased to distinguish between friend and foe. After the fall of Saigon, the protagonist ends up in the United States, where he becomes a consultant for a war film being shot in one of the Hollywood studios.
